I am seeking information on my great-great-grandfather, William McPherson NICOL, b. 1825 in Inverness, Scotland and his son Edward Ellice NICOL, b 1851, in St. Vincent, West Indies.
William McPherson married Harriet Marion HACKSHAW in St. Vincent on 12 Jan 1849 and was supposedly a stipendiary magistrate in St. Vincent. Her family was well known on the island.
William McPherson's father was Dr. John Inglis NICOL, who was quite a prominent figure in Inverness and was Provost from 1840 - 1843.
