My Dad is Erik John Christian Olsen Kemp Born 16 March 1919. Adoptee family John and Freda Kemp.
Lived all his life at 9 Connaught Rd Sittingbourne. He was in army the KOSB sometime between 1935 to 1944.He married Mum, Lillian May Edmonds 24 June 1944.
I have very little info on my Dad and I am trying to do family tree but have been unable to find birth certificste, so we are beginning to think he may have been adopted. I know there are no records before1927 I think so it is difficult, especially as we now live in Australia. Dad left with us in 1955 on the PO Strathaird.
Even if he was adopted would he not have a birth certificate in his new parents name? If anyone can help with this I would be grateful Annalisa
looking for some parsons in the Reading area of Berkshire
Thomas Hope married Maryann Parsons about 21st June 1843 they had a few children and then came out to Australia..
Mary Anne Parents were Richard Parsons to Maria Deacon. I have a lot of the information from after arriving here in Australia but it is hard getting info when you live in a small country town with not much here.
MaryAnne also had three brothers and one of them was a gambler and lost the family home after Richard had dide due to gambleing.
Do you have any names of the children? Have found a Thomas and Mary Ann Hope on the 1851 census with a lot of children but they are in Sandhurst, Berkshire. or If you have a place of birth for Thomas or Mary Ann that might help.
I also have 2 Richard Parsons married to a Maria on the 1851 but they don't come from Berkshire so if you have any more info on them that would also help.
My Richard & Maria Parsons came from Reading, or there is another town starting with A, I think but in the reading area. Richard and Maria had about five children three boys and two girls. one of the girls is MaryAnne the other was Charlotte she died young I think... Thomas and Maryanne had 7 children in England but a couple died not sure if they died while they were in England or on the way over here, then when they came to Australia they had two more the youngest was my granddads grandparents. Thomas was meant to have been born in Oxfordshire I am not sure of his parents I think his dad was also Thomas but as i said not sure yet.. I have most the information from this side in Australia. I have not yet got the name of boat they came out on either as we live in a small country town we cannot research here I sometimes gotta go away and do that but that is hard with work and kids.
I do know that when Richard died Thomas was running the farm before he died and after he died the rules were that the eldest (who was a gambler and who lost his own farm from gambling debts) got to run his fathers farm because it was the rule that the eldest gets the most or something like that and that was when Thomas and MaryAnne decided to come to Australia to make a new life.
