I am BOB M YU ASENSI, Webmaster of this site.

The surname YU ASENSI has its beginning in Hinunangan Southern Leyte, Philippines with MARIANO YU, a Chinese from Amoy, Fukien China. He was baptized as MARIANO ASENSI by an Italian Priest named ASENSI; Mariano accepted the name but retained the YU, thus YU ASENSI. He married ESCOLASTICA LIGUID and had 13 (maybe more) children. Through the years the family name "evolved" into several variations, such as Yu-Asensi, YuAsensi, Yuasensi, or simply Asensi; some female descendants dropped ASENSI and use just YU as their maiden name.
